Episode 276-2: Relaxation and Resilience Tips for Translators – Interview with Claire Wenngren

Many freelancers feel stressed and anxious, at least some of the time. Our lonely jobs at our desks, with deadlines to meet and fluctuating workloads, can lead to extra stress. In this episode I am interviewing a fellow translator, Claire Wenngren, who teaches relaxation procedures and resilience techniques so that we can enjoy more peace in everyday life, plus improve our physical and mental health.

Important things mentioned in this episode:

  • Why relaxation is so important for translators
  • The LoS method – “Let go of Stress”
  • What resilience is and how we can increase our resilience
  • An 8-minute seated relaxation session to practice on your own (when you can take some time to yourself and are not driving or doing other things)

Useful links mentioned in this episode:

Anxiety and stress are some of the most common concerns we see among self-employed freelancers, especially during these uncertain times. I am not sure what I would have done without my yoga. Claire gave us some easy tips to integrate more relaxation and resilience into our life. I hope you enjoy our little exercise today and I encourage you to go check her out for more information.
