Henry grew up in Syracuse, NY, USA, and attended MIT, where he studied engineering. Under the MIT Japan program, he had the opportunity to go to Japan, where he spent five years, learned the language and experienced the joy of being a freelance translator. He founded ProZ.com in Japan in 1999, and has been president of the company ever since. Today he lives with his wife and three children back in his hometown of Syracuse.
