Do you want more or better clients?
Do you struggle setting yourself apart from competition?
Are you struggling with how to market your services, and to whom, on a consistent basis?
If so, you’re not alone and I’m here to help.
When I first got started as a freelance translator it was difficult to know who to market to. How to price my services was a struggle and the first years consisted of feast and famine cycles since I only marketed my services only when I did not have any new projects in the pipeline. Then I decided to create a plan and a strategy for my business and use my corporate marketing knowledge for my freelance business.

When I went to college, I had no idea what I wanted to be, or who I wanted to work with, so I studied international marketing and business. Being a bit of a languages geek meant that plain old business and marketing wasn’t enough, so I combined it with studying languages, six of them, to be precise. After graduating I worked in an international company in their marketing department, but it wasn’t until I moved to the US with a toddler (and pregnant with number 2!) that I started looking at other options. Without any contacts in the marketing business, and with a desire to be more available for my children, I started researching a freelance career that involved languages and marketing.
That was in 2003. Fast forward to now, I have a successful business, working with clients I love, while still have time for my family and travels. I believe every freelance translator can have this.
My marketing background has helped me immeasurably in building my business from 0 to six figures. Since 2010 I’ve had the privilege of helping other freelance linguists grow and market their own businesses.
