We can all benefit from more collaboration. It can be a way to create a unique selling proposition and position ourselves as experts on the market. Having a buddy can also motivate us to do our marketing tasks, to step out of our comfort zone, and to keep each other motivated and accountable.
Bio:
Jason Willis-Lee, MITI, graduated in physiology after training as a doctor for over three years at Bristol Medical School including one year’s full hospital training. He put in a brief stint as a clinical research associate before switching into applied linguistics and earning a postgraduate diploma in translating and interpreting from the University of Bath. He now works full time in Madrid as a freelance Med Pharm translator in the Spanish-English and French-English language pairs. He was a workshop facilitator at the MET (Mediterranean Editors and Translators) annual conference held in Tarragona, Spain in 2016. In 2017 he attended the Elia Together and ITI events held in Berlin and Cardiff, respectively and took part in the MET annual conference in Breschia last October. He moderated the live-streamed specialisation track for EliaTogether2018 recently held in Athens in February 2018.
Andrew Leigh is a UK-based translator from French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese into English specialising in legal, business and commercial translations. He has worked in the translation industry for over 18 years and runs his own company, Allegro Legal Translations. Andrew holds a degree in English law and has a particular interest in the area of contract law. He is a Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and can often be found writing articles, delivering webinars and running workshops on translation-related matters and, in particular, on legal translation.
