Episode 270: Marketing Transcreation as a High-Value Service – Interview with Nina Sattler-Hovdar
03/22/20215 Steps to Get More Translation Work from Agencies
04/12/2021I’ve received requests for more information on content marketing for translators and this episode is focused on just that.
Content marketing is an important part of inbound marketing. I teach inbound marketing for translators and interpreters and inbound marketing basically means using online marketing to attract clients to you, rather than actively reaching out directly to potential clients through direct mailing, calling etc.
Content marketing means that you strategically create and distribute content to attract, qualify and convert leads. But it is much more than writing blog posts. For content marketing to work you must have a plan behind it, and you need to really know your ideal client well, or buyer persona.
In this episode I interview a fellow translator and content marketing agency owner, Maeva Cifuentes, who has given presentations and workshops on content marketing on several occasions. I’ve attended her workshop and found it very useful.
Important things mentioned in this episode:
- The benefits of content marketing for freelance translators
- How to find out more about our ideal client and create a basis for content marketing
- Tips on questions we should ask our ideal clients
- What kind of content we can create to attract our ideal clients
Useful links mentioned in this episode:

Content marketing may not be for everyone. It does require both time and consistency. But it’s a great way to rank on Google and establish ourselves as authorities in our niche. Plus, it’s absolutely free.
