Episode 25: Leveraging our network as freelance translators – Interview with Tanya Quintieri

If there is one thing I have learned during my 10+ years as a freelance translator, it is that we need colleagues and we need to collaborate with other people and businesses. Our competitors can become valuable collaboration resources too. In May I met Tanya Quintieri, who is an expert in teaching how we can leverage our network and in this episode I am picking her brain on this topic.

In this episode we discuss the following:

  • Advantages of cooperating with other freelance translators
  • What we can collaborate on
  • How to find and collaborate with other businesses to provide better client value
  • How to find people and businesses to collaborate with to provide more value
  • How to market our network and collaborations

Being a committed entrepreneur, I love to share my knowledge and experience gained in more than 13 years of successful freelancing. I have been invited to speak at conferences, fairs and universities throughout Germany and Europe. My topics are young professionals, social media marketing, corporate identity, and cooperation opportunities for freelancers as well as customer acquisition and—most important—client retention. Despite my numerous positions, I am still an enthusiastic translator. Some might call me a workaholic. But actually I am just very passionate about helping others in different ways: As a problem solver for my clients, as a consultant for my colleagues, as a confidant my friends, a role model for my children.
