Episode 98: The value of building a translator community – Interview with Dmitry Kornyukhov

The value of building a translator community 300x225

Translators who are connected to a community, who share insights and resources with each other and learn from each other, are often more successful than those who isolate themselves. In this episode I talk to English-Russian translator Dmitry Kornyukhov. Dmitry is the founder of a new translator  community, The Open Mic.

Important things covered in this episode:

  • When was The Open Mic founded?
  • Why it was founded
  • What we can learn from it, and how we can use it
  • Progress so far, and future plans for the community
  • ‘Blabbing Translators’

I wish Dmitry the very best of luck with his venture. There are some really great articles shared on The Open Mic, so for those of you who have not yet checked it out, I recommend you do. In the meantime, why not be a model  Marketing Tips for Translators community member, and give me your thoughts on today’s podcast in my comments section! Thanks for your time, and have a wonderful week.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing, Tess! It seems like a wrong episode has been added to this post and instead of our interview you’ve published an interview with Jonathan Downie 🙂
