Episode 103: Essential collaboration for translators – Interview with Allison Wright

The topic of today’s podcast is collaboration, and with me to discuss it is Portugal-based Allison Wright, a German, French and Portuguese to English translator specializing in corporate communications. Allison gave a popular speech at the APTRAD conference in June about how important collaboration is for translators, and how we can take advantage of it.

Important things covered in this episode:

  • Why collaboration is essential for freelance translators
  • The different aspects of collaboration
  • How to collaborate successfully
  • Competition – a common misconception
  • Creating a collaborative relationship with clients

I would encourage all translators to get out of the office and meet their colleagues and clients as often as possible, or to collaborate online. There are so many potential benefits to be had. If you find today’s tips valuable, then please don’t forget to show your appreciation by voting in the community choice awards at proz.com! See you next time.
