Episode 188: The Secret Behind the World’s Greatest Salesman – Or How to Market Like a Farmer

You’ve probably already noticed that I am an avid reader, and audio book listener. In this episode I bring you some wisdom or insights that I got from a book called “The 1-page Marketing Plan – Get More Customers, Make More Money, and Stand Out from the Crowd”, by Allan Dib. In this book he shares the story about the world’s greatest salesman. This story resonated well with me and shows how important it is to care for your current customers. But he also talks about how to market like a farmer, to cultivate your leads.

Important things mentioned in this episode

  • The one thing the world’s greatest salesman did to have clients line up to do business with him
  • How to market like a farmer to grow and cultivate your leads into customers

If we market more like a farmer will have a rich and continual harvest in a growing database of customers. Some of these tips might not be directly applicable for us freelance translators, but we can certainly take some ideas from them and improve our customer and prospect service. And to build a successful business, we need to stop doing random, sporadic acts of marketing and instead follow a reliable plan to nurture our prospects and clients, plus grow our business.
